DFI Session 4.

Kia Ora,
We started the day with karakia from Ruruhi at Taipa Area School. Dorothy joined us from Auckland via google hangout regarding the share aspect and who are authentic audience. Kerry elaborated more on multi model site. I learnt how to make google site from nothing. Digital Fluency Intensive Session 3

Today I attended the DFI course which was hosted by Taipa Area School. They were great hosts.
 I will reflect by answering the following questions:
What did I learn that increased my understanding of Create within the Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?  I learnt lots, for example Google slides, You Tube playlist, Google drawing.
What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?
How to carefully make playlists from You Tube and make Google slides to effectively manage time.
What did I learn that could be used with my learners? I will encourage my learners to use Google slide animation to present their learning.

What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life?

Digital Fluency Intensive Session 2.

Kia Ora,

Today we had great start with taumata at Bay of Islands College Marae and got straight into the intensive

course. I learnt about the following:

• The Manaiakalani Pedagogy: Learn Create Share with the focus on learn (Recognise, Amplify &Turbocharge)
• Ways to efficiently manage and keep track of your tabs
• Managing gmail features- I set up my signature and filters
• Set up Calendar-added google hangout meeting for Friday.
• How to use google hangouts-using micro-phone and screen Share.

The new features that I learnt today especially google Hangout have definitely boost my confidence. I will use this effectively with my students to bring out the best from my learners. Now I realised that setting gmail and calendar properly will make my life Easier.

Digital Fluency Course 1 at Paihia school

Kia Ora,

I had an awesome day today because I learnt a lot about using a Digital device. I feel more confident and understand more about the  learn ,create, share pedagogy of Manaiakalani kaupapa. The highlights for me were:

• Voice Typing
• Reader writing feature
• Google drive
• Google groups 
• Omnibox
• Explore tool(footnote feature)
• Google drive Check/ overview

All this features that I have learnt will definitely help to reduce workload. I will now ask my students to write the reflection for each lesson on their blog. I will encourage them to voice type on a google doc and copy and paste on to their blog.
